Over-Active Bladder

An estimated 17 million Americans suffer from an over-active bladder. This condition has been symptom by sudden loss of bladder control.

This condition is most prevalent among women and older adults. Treatments include drug therapy, pelvic floor exercises and electrical stimulation of pelvic muscles. Drug treatment is believed to increase the muscle tone of the urethra. This is the tube that leads from the bladder. Surgery can also affect this condition. Although bio-feedback and catheterization of the bladder are often tried as alternatives.
