BETTER FACE LIFT
If you’re in your 40’s and say, you notice your face isn’t as firm as it used to be; if some sagging and wrinkles are getting you down, there’s now a less invasive type of facelift that’s providing more benefit, especially where it affects those in mid-life. It’s called an endoscopic forehead midface lift.
Still not a lot of surgeons do this procedure, but new research shows it works great for getting to the middle portion of the face--around the cheeks--where the muscles start to loosen and the skin starts to drop in the 40’s and 50’s--and where botox just can’t do the trick.
A less invasive type of face lift is providing hope to people in their 40s. It’s called an endoscopic forehead midface lift.

Michele Fiorenza was experiencing the midlife signs of aging. “I was starting to look tired, you know unfortunately, I’m trying to stop aging which is impossible. I try to take care of myself but that’s something that you really can’t do without surgery. It’s not like you can go to the gym and fix your face,” says Michele.
Michele decided to get an endoscopic forehead midface lift. The procedure, shown in a new study in the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery to create a youthful appearance in more than what the typical facelift provides, is performed through much smaller incisions.
Tiny cuts are made through which surgery is done using small micro instruments and scopes. The added benefit is that the aging mid-face—around the cheeks-- is addressed, which typically isn’t with the typical face lift.
Dr. Andrew Jacono, a plastic surgeon at the New York Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, says, “It was created because when people had face lifts in the past they would lift the jaw line and the neck but leave this part of the face out which creates the nasal labia grooves which are the groves between the corners of the nose and the mouth. What it accomplishes is a lift of the central portion of the face which is usually the part of the face that ages in the mid 40 range to the late 50s.”
Michele says, “My eye brows are higher now my eyes don’t look like they are so inset into my face. I though that it looked like I had circles under my eyes here but now with the mid face lift it kind of took all of that away.”
“As we age the lower eye lid tends to pull down becomes droopy and when you do a mid face lift it lifts up the tissues around the eyes as well as the cheeks and actually makes the eyes look better and more youthful,” says Dr. Jacono.”
